United States Kyokushin Karate – IFK Organization (USA-IFKK)-

Rochester, New York, is the official U.S. organization of the International Federation of Karate (IFK). The USA-IFKK was founded in 1996 by Shihan Michael Monaco, Rokudan (6th Dan), who was previously United States Branch Chief of the International Karate Organization (IKO).After the death of Sosai (President) Mas Oyama in 1994 and the subsequent splintering of the IKO, Shihan Monaco examined the various Kyokushin organizations in order to find one that he truly believed followed the principles and ideals of Mas Oyama. In doing so, he traveled to London to explore the structure of the IFK under the direction of Hanshi (Master) Steve Arneil. After weeks of discussion, Shihan Monaco accepted the invitation to join the organization and was appointed Chairman of the USA-IFKK.

World Kanreikai Karate is an international organization that promotes and teaches traditional Japanese “contact” karate. All Kanreikai Karate schools (or dojo) located in several countries around the world (United States, Canada, Israel, Poland, Russia, …) offer a range of specific karate training programs and welcome students of all ages and abilities. Moreover, all Kanreikai schools encourage their students to take part in regional, national and international competitions, hence contributing to heighten interest in martial arts all over the world.
At World Kanreikai Karate, our mission is double: to provide our students with an efficient program of physical activity in a safe and friendly environment and to simultaneously offer them a way of life filled with personal achievements.
