Gracie Combatives® Infomercial
18. May, 2009 · Filed Under Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Curriculum, DVD, good business practice, self defenseI was up late last night watching CNN while working on my online business when the Gracie Combatives® Infomercial came on. Mind you this is around 1:30 am on CNN. CNN is not known for showing cheesy informcial, but this was an exceptions. The informcial was well done, and all the sales pitch was setup probably. I recognize the triggers words, hooks, and call to action. If you are a big fan of any Dan Kennedy Marketing tactics you will recognize all the strategies employed.
The last few months I have been watching and downloading every available resource about the Gracie Combative Program, and let just say I am very impress with the quality and technical details that are in these videos.
There has been a big backlash against the Gracie for their marketing of there family arts and the aggressive way they are propagating the Gracie Combative Program. In a few shorts years we will be seeing many tradition martial arts school that does not have a grappling programming teaching the Gracie Combative as part of their grappling curriculum. Unfortunely there will be many levels of technical proficient and depth. Some school with instructor well verse in grappling will offer the Gracie Combative in a very in-depth technical level. And other school with instructor with no grappling experience would offer the same program without the clarity or depth of even a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt students
This why I feel it is important for instructor with already advance grappling skills and knowledge to absorbed or understand what the Gracie Combative Program is all about. If not the un-educated consumer will go the a school with the Gracie Logo assuming that we are now able to provide the same high quality self defense grappling training offer by a certificated Gracie Combative Program School.
